Frequently Asked Questions!

In operative care, our foot surgeons in Dallas commonly provide surgeries including fusion surgery, neuroma treatment, toe deformity correction surgery, achilles tendon repair and reconstructive surgery.

An average of 3 to 6 hours are required in the hospital. Most patients wake up within 4 hours after an ankle or foot surgery. So, if you are an outpatient, you need to stay for at least 5 hours.

Here are 5 recommendations for all of Dallas Orthopedic Associates’ patients, specially ones who have recently received ankle surgery:

  • Take a healthy diet, avoiding carbonated drinks and food triggers.
  • Exercises as recommended by your post-surgery doctor or consultant.
  • Keep track of the occurrence, frequency and intensity of your pain.
  • Attend physiotherapy sessions and use footwear as recommended by your ankle surgeon.
  • Rest well. Take the suggested hours of sleep and naps.

Ankle surgery recovery typically takes 6 weeks. This means you can perform light physical activities involving feet and ankles in the 7th week after surgery, but for heavy exercises, movements and mobility, a foot and ankle surgeon would suggest you start after eight to nine weeks. These timelines verily depend on the type of injury and surgery a patient has received.

Foot and ankle surgeries are one of the most effective and successful surgery lines. These surgeries, including hip and knee replacements have displayed the highest success ratios throughout the USA and Europe.

Our Happy clients

Don’t just take our word for it. Listen from our satisfied patients.

With a tough routine like mine and the foot condition I had, it could get frustrating to visit a clinic multiple times. While Dallas Ortho has an incredible staff and cure procedures, I am particularly satisfied because I was treated on my first consultancy visit.
